Metroplex Wrestling Presents Who Runs The World – All Womens Wrestling Show

Athena, longest reigning ROH Women’s World Champion and owner/promoter of Metroplex Wrestling (MPX), launched Who Runs The World? a new, regular all‑women’s wrestling show. The inaugural edition took place August 9 at the MPX Event Center in Bedford, Texas.

The goal is clear: elevate women’s wrestling by giving the talent more visibility, meaningful matches, and a platform to shine. With that mission in mind, the bar was high going in.

Billie Starkz vs. Maya World
The night opened with 2 rising stars, Billie Starkz taking on Maya World, in a competitive match that set the tone for the evening. Both women worked hard to showcase their athleticism and energy, but it was Starkz who ultimately picked up the win. Her victory was a strong statement, adding another notch to her growing reputation as one of the brightest young names in women’s wrestling.

Shay Karmichael vs. Emmy Camacho
Shay Karmichael squared off against Emmy Camacho in a solid showcase bout for two promising competitors. Camacho brought heart and resilience, but Karmichael’s physicality and determination shined through. In the end, Karmichael secured the victory, establishing herself as someone to keep an eye on in the Texas scene.

Bad Bitch Brawl – Charity King vs. Nyla Rose vs. Morgan Mercy vs. Baby D
One of the highlights of the night came in the form of the four-way elimination match dubbed the “Bad Bitch Brawl.” Featuring Charity King, Nyla Rose, Morgan Mercy, and Baby D, the match delivered a mix of powerhouse moments and scrappy underdog spots. In the end, it was Charity King who rose above the competition, overcoming even the formidable Nyla Rose to claim a breakout victory.

Masha Slamovich vs. Vert Vixen vs. Hyan
The three-way match between Masha Slamovich, Vert Vixen, and Hyan delivered some of the night’s hardest-hitting action. All three women brought intensity and skill, with Vixen and Hyan showcasing strong technical work and aerial flair. However, Slamovich’s relentless aggression proved too much to overcome, as she scored the win and reminded everyone why she’s a top name on the independent scene.

ROW Women’s Tag Team Championship – Gigi Rey & Ladybird Monica Monroe (c) vs. Anarkid Ash & Londyn Dior
The Reality of Wrestling Women’s Tag Team Titles were on the line as champions Gigi Rey and Ladybird Monica Monroe defended against Anarkid Ash and Londyn Dior. The challengers gave a spirited effort, pushing the champions throughout the contest, but Rey and Monroe’s chemistry and teamwork carried them through. The champions retained their titles, keeping their dominance intact in a competitive tag team clash.

MPX Women’s Championship – Reiza Clarke (c) vs. Abadon
The main event of the evening saw Reiza Clarke defend the MPX Women’s Championship against the fearsome Abadon. Clarke fought valiantly, but Abadon’s eerie presence and unrelenting offense kept the crowd on edge. In a shocking and decisive finish, Abadon defeated Clarke to capture the MPX Women’s Championship, closing the show with a dramatic title change and cementing herself as the new face of the division. Nixon Newell made a surprise appearance at the end of the match to challenge Abadon at the next Who Runs The World event.

Special Appearance – Athena & Mercedes Moné
In one of the night’s most memorable moments, host and ROH Women’s World Champion Athena addressed the crowd to celebrate the significance of Who Runs The World?. She was then joined by none other than Mercedes Moné, who shocked the audience with her surprise appearance. The two champions spoke about the importance of women’s wrestling and the need for more shows like this to highlight female talent. Moné even treated the crowd to her signature “CEO dance,” creating a moment of electricity that left fans buzzing long after the segment ended.
