PYRRHON: Cassette Version Of An Excellent Servant, But A Terrible Master Out Now Via Selfmadegod Records; Eastern US Tour Supporting Imperial Triumphant Begins Today

New York City experimental extreme metal act PYRRHON celebrates the 10th anniversary of their debut album An Excellent Servant, But A Terrible Master with a first-ever cassette pressing.

Previously out of print for nearly half a decade, this new edition of An Excellent Servant, But A Terrible Master offers a gritty document of one of metal’s most feral bands just as they found their frightening voice. Prepared by original 2011 CD release partners Selfmadegod Records, the cassette features a new analog-focused remaster by frequent PYRRHON collaborator Colin Marston (Gorguts, Dysrhythmia, Krallice), and a revamped running order designed to accommodate the format’s physical side break.

Comments PYRRHON vocalist Doug Moore: “An Excellent Servant, But A Terrible Master was written and recorded during a very difficult period for us as people, and the strain of realizing our vision for it nearly broke the band. And you know what? It was worth it. This album still rips, and we’re thrilled that it’ll be available in a physical format again, as God intended.”

The cassette edition of PYRRHON’s An Excellent Servant, But A Terrible Master can be found at Selfmadegod Records HERE.

Earlier this year, Moore published a retrospective on the writing and recording of An Excellent Servant But A Terrible Master on Medium HERE.

PYRRHON will spend the second half of October touring the Eastern United States in support of 2020’s Abscess Time, their most recent album, supporting Imperial Triumphant. The tour begins today and runs through November 1st, ending with two hometown shows.
