ALICE IN CHAINS returned with The One You Know, the band’s first new track in five years and the first taste of what would become the 2018 album Rainier Fog.
The single arrived with a video directed by Adam Mason and marked Alice In Chains’ first release through its new label home, BMG.
Guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell had described the then-unannounced album as a record that retained the unmistakable Alice In Chains identity while pushing into heavy, dark and atmospheric territory. The new material followed 2013’s The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here.
The lineup featured Cantrell alongside drummer Sean Kinney, bassist Mike Inez and vocalist/guitarist William DuVall.
The One You Know ultimately became the opening track on Rainier Fog, which was released later that summer.
