Progressive Rock group, The Far Cry, brings a new album titled Once There Was. The new album demonstrates a multi faceted musical experience. With shifting tempos and unpredictable sounds, this album features great vocals and varied musical sounds.
Opening track, “Unholy Waters,” begins with a haunting wind in the background segueing into soaring guitars and rhythmic drums. Drawing from the strong sounds of 1970s prog rock is prevalent throughout the track. “Crossing Pangea” offers an experience that feels like traveling through time with rippling guitars lulling and drawing the listener in. After the guitars, the piano sets for a change to a focused core in the song. “Dimension of Darkness” is a slow- paced whimsical forray that heads straight into “Gathering of Shadows” continuing the fantastical sounds. “Falling in Line” showcases velvety lyrics against fierce fast paced guitars.”And Ever After” closes the album on a transcending note.
Once There Was is a fun listening experience for any music lover.
