ROCK ON THE RANGE 2014:

120,000 CONCERT-GOERS ATTEND SECOND CONSECUTIVE

SELL-OUT IN FESTIVAL’S EIGHT YEAR RUN

ROCK ON THE RANGE 2014 is a wrap.

America’s premier rock festival–which sold-out in advance of Friday’s kick-off–saw more than 120,000 concert-goers on hand at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, OH to experience blistering performances on three stages over three days (May 16, 17 and 18).  This marks the second consecutive year that ROTR has been a sell-out; last year’s event had an audience of 103,000 fans.

This year, ROTR included closing sets from Guns N’ Roses and Staind on Friday, Avenged Sevenfold and Slayer on Saturday, Kid Rock and Five Finger Death Punch on Sunday.  The festival’s bill also featured 60 of the world’s hardest rocking bands including: Seether, Chevelle, Alter Bridge, Mastodon, Black Label Society, Killswitch Engage and many more.

Here are some thoughts from a few of this year’s ROCK ON THE RANGE artists:

“ROTR proves once again that it’s the best rock festival in the US. Death Punch would like to thank the hard working people who organize & run the event, the bands who bring the fury to the stage, and of course the thousands of passionate fans who come together for three days of rock & roll and create the absolutely electric atmosphere. We feed off of that and can’t wait to come back!”

–Ivan Moody, Five Finger Death Punch

“Rock On The Range was truly one of the best experiences of my life.  From top to bottom everything and everyone was top notch.”

–Don Jamieson, Comedian & co-host of “That Metal Show”

“2014 Rock On The Range was a massive success! The fact that it sold out proves that Rock n Roll is alive and well in the USA. Congrats to everyone who was involved and a big thank you to the fans for taking it to the next level.”

–Myles Kennedy, Alter Bridge

“I’ve done a lot of festivals in the past year, and hands down Rock on the Range is one of the best around. There’s nothing like a music festival where the crowd is pumped and ready to have a good time. I had an awesome experience rocking out with them, and can only hope I get to be a part of it next year!”

–Jim Breuer, Comedian

“Columbus went off!! Thank you good people at Rock on the Range!! One of the best crowds of the year!”

–Andrew Stockdale, Wolfmother

Some early critical feedback on ROTR 2014 includes:

“The folks at Rock on the Range out did themselves again when it came to their headliners. All three were fantastic…This was by far the best group of headliners that they’ve had. They’ll have to work even harder to top it next year. Here’s to hoping that they find a way to do that. Until next year Rangers; horns up!”

“Rock On The Range 2014 Closes Out Strong Weekend Of Rock…The eighth annual ROCK ON THE RANGE completed another successful weekend of awesome rock performances and marked the second consecutive year that the three-day multi-stage music and lifestyle event sold out…”

–ALLACCESS.COM, 5/19

“Is there anything better than live music?  On a chilly afternoon in Columbus, Ohio, the 8th annual Rock on the Range (commonly known as ROTR) began with thousands of metal and rock fans flooding into the perfectly designed Crew Stadium…Rock on the Range has had incredible and well-known bands headline the event every year and this year it is no different.”
