New Music Review: ROBERTAS SEMENIUKAS ‘#Backstagestories’

REVIEW – Hailing from Lithuania, Robertas Semeniukas brings a new full length 20 track album titled “Backstage Stories.” The 20 track album contains 12 instrumental and 8 vocal songs.

The opening song Kai Nieko Nebelieka sets up the record with rocking guitar riffs and rap vocals that sweep the listener along the for the ride. Nesustok starts at a slower pace with a 1970s vibe featuring the soft vocals of Juste Kraujelyte. Juste’s vocals make a grand accompanying piece on the song offering a genuine feeling. Flying High begins with a stellar guitar solo delving into a easygoing piece. Gitarų šėlsmas continues the rocking vibe with searing riffs and bass to back up the killer drumbeat.

Killer Boogie From China featuring Mr. Belkin brings a western bluesy feel to change the tone of the album. Starting off slower, the song soon takes on a life of its own to a faster pace foot bopping piece. Stormy Day has a renegade type of rock transcending setting. You Gotta Move featuring Mr. Belkin is another blues tinged track with rich vocals. Icebreak Comes To Town returns to the stellar rock sound that Semeniukas likes to include in his works. Song 4 Edito invokes a 1950s style with the steel guitar riffs.

Robertas Semeniukas brings about so many varying sounds that add layers and depths not expected from just one artist. His use of guest vocalists show a new life much needed in music today.
