FIRST SIGNAL is: Harry Hess (vocals), and Daniel Flores (drums)
REVIEW – First Signal is a musical marriage between Canadian frontman Harry Hess (Harem Scarem) and Swedish drummer/producer Daniel Flores (The Murder Of My Sweet, Find Me). They have announced the release of their new album, that is entitled “Closer To The Edge.” The new record, which is their fourth overall, features yet another excellent collection of songs and carries on the excellent tradition that they have built throughout the course of their discography.
Hess is, as usual, really killing it here, and Flores has done an incredible job producing this album once again. As was the case with the previous releases, lovers of the Melodic Rock genre will find this to be another album that is an absolute necessity to listen to in 2022 as nothing can match it. A number of talented songwriters, including Pete Alpenborg (Arctic Rain), Guillermo Del Medio (Inner Stream), Alessandro Del Vecchio, Kristian Fyhr (Seventh Crystal), and Herman Nori, have dedicated their songwriting skills to this most recent work, which has produced remarkable results. Fans of alternative and melodic rock will find “Closer to the Edge” to be an absolute treat once again.
Close your eyes and let the song “Don’t Let It End” take you on a journey through your memories. Take a magical musical excursion in your dreams with “I Don’t Wanna Feel The Night Is Over.” The rhythms and vocals in “Show Me The Way” are irresistible. Let yourself be swept away by your own imagination while you listen to the song “Don’t Look Away. “Irreplaceable” will have you floating through the air on a cloud of tunes.
“One More Time,” simply let the emotions wash over you. The catchy melody and passionate vocals make “Closer To The Edge” simply flow. “Angel With A Rose” will transport you on a beautiful spiritual journey. “Mystery” is a dramatic emotional track with some powerful vocals. The vocals of “The Hurting One” move and flow in time with the music as if it were living and breathing. “Got To Believe” is a power ballad that will transport you to front row of the biggest arena rock concerts of the 1980’s.
Now, in the year 2022, the group is carrying on the traditions that they have created with their previous three recordings on the fourth addition to their discography, entitled “Closer To The Edge.”
