PROMOTED TO ASSOCIATE PUBLICIST
AT MITCH SCHNEIDER ORGANIZATION (MSO)
MSO PR has announced, via the company’s President Mitch Schneider, the immediate promotion of MIKE GOWEN to the position of Associate Publicist at the Mitch Schneider Organization (MSO).
GOWEN began at MSO in 2012 as a part-time assistant to Angela Villanueva before advancing to the position of executive assistant to President Mitch Schneider who he will continue to work closely with in his new position. Over the past two years Mike has been involved in the media campaigns for various artists in multiple genres including The Black Crowes, Black Sabbath, Dave Stewart, Dream Theater, Dwight Yoakam, John Fogerty, Slash, The Smashing Pumpkins, Ted Nugent, Wynonna Judd and others.
“Mike is a passionate player–it was apparent from the start,” says Mitch Schneider. “And that’s how you want to grow a company, with players who live and breathe music–and who also take great pride in representing our artists and all their diverse projects to the media. Mike has all these qualities and he’s grown quickly at MSO.” Schneider adds: “Mike is a graduate of Musicians Institute, so he brings another layer of business knowledge to MSO. And Mike has great taste in music, and did I say that he plays a mean guitar too?”
GOWEN graduated from Musicians Institute College of Contemporary Music in 2010 from the school’s Music Business Program. During college he interned in Bug Music Publishing’s creative department and at LaFamos PR & Branding–which led to a subsequent hiring after graduation as a full time staffer–sparking his passion for public relations. Prior to working at MSO, GOWEN worked as an assistant to Grammy Award winning Jazz legend, Stanley Clarke. GOWEN is looking forward to continue evolving at MSO and discovering more great music along the way.
