DALLAS, TX — BIG TEX is getting a new pair of jeans for the 2026 STATE FAIR OF TEXAS, and they are about as far from off-the-rack as denim gets. LEVI’S has been named the Official Jeans of Big Tex and will create a custom pair of the company’s iconic 501 jeans for the towering symbol of the Fair.
The partnership brings together one of Texas’ most recognizable figures and the company credited with inventing the blue jean. Big Tex has greeted generations of State Fair visitors for more than 70 years, while Levi’s denim has been part of American clothing culture for more than a century and a half.
Custom 501s for Big Tex
The made-for-Big-Tex 501s will become part of his updated Western wardrobe for the 2026 season. The denim joins a new Cavender’s-designed shirt and Resistol hat partnership, creating a head-to-toe refresh built around established Western brands.
The State Fair says the Levi’s partnership is intended to reflect the same themes that have long defined Big Tex: craftsmanship, authenticity, Western heritage, and a larger-than-life Texas identity.
Levi’s Is Bringing a Fair Activation to Dallas
The partnership will extend beyond Big Tex’s wardrobe. Levi’s plans to operate the LS Service Station, a branded pop-up at the Fair featuring a curated selection of products using official State Fair of Texas marks.
Customization opportunities will be available at the Fair activation and at participating Levi’s locations around Dallas–Fort Worth. Levi’s Red Tab members are also expected to receive early-access opportunities connected to the activation.
For State Fair regulars, Big Tex’s clothes have always been part of the annual visual identity of Fair Park. The 2026 wardrobe changes make that tradition even more deliberate, with multiple Texas and American brands contributing pieces to his look.
Fairgoers will get their first in-person look at Big Tex in his custom Levi’s denim when the gates open for the 2026 State Fair of Texas on September 25.
The Fair’s 2026 theme is “Stars, Stripes, and Howdies,” and the season runs through October 18 at Fair Park in Dallas.
