The band comment: “We couldn’t be more excited to join the Hassle family. Their roster shows a genuine spirit of creative independence and as an organisation they’re driven by values of social and environmental justice, both of which are hugely important for us as a band. We can’t wait to unleash some unhinged sonic chaos together in 2022.”

Hassle‘s Wez comments: “We’re delighted to welcome Ithaca to the Hassle family. We pride ourselves on working with creative artists that like to do things their way. If the band’s EP and debut album are anything to go by we can expect some excellent creative music from them in the future.”

Ithaca‘s news follows their early 2020 tour with Grammy-nominated indie rock band Big Thief, and the release of their lauded 2019 debut LP The Language of Injury.

Press support from Pitchfork, BBC R1, Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, Revolver, Decibel magazines, and performances with Jamie Lenman, Anaal Nathrakh, Bleeding Through, at Boomtown Fair and ArcTanGent Festival, mark Ithaca as one of the most exciting and vital new voices in UK heavy music currently.

Formed out of a mutual love of metallic hardcore but despair at its lack of ambition, Ithaca draw influence from everything from Southern doom to 90’s math rock, as well as the untethered savagery of early Poison The Well and melodious battery of Oathbreaker.

The result is crushing grooves and shrieking guitar squalls that give way to haunting melodic passages and desolate reprieves. The debut album is the band’s most ambitious and emotionally raw material to date, following from their 2015 Trespassers EP (COF Records/Soaked in Torment).

Ithaca have previously toured with Big Thief, Employed to Serve, Venom Prison, and Renounced.
