Upcoming Shows on GIMME METAL:

GIMME METAL TV – Gimme Radio has announced Gimme TV which features two 24/7 video channels: GIMME METAL TV and Gimme Country TV! Gimme TV combines the power of MTV-like linear broadcasting with live streaming and will feature music videos, short form artist-created content, long form music documentaries and movies, live streaming music performances, live streaming artist lifestyles/storyteller pieces and much more. Gimme CEO Tyler Lenane discussed the initiative, “Right now, there is this mad rush to become the live streaming destination. But I think these other companies are missing the point that fans don’t just want to watch a live performance in an empty club on their laptop… they want deeper access to artists and they want to experience it with other fans.” Movie night continues tonight with the Death/Chuck Schuldiner documentary Death By Metal. Director Felipe Belalcazar will be available in the live chat giving viewers deeper insight and context into the movie they won’t find anywhere else. Download the GIMME METAL app on your Android or iOS phone to tune in: gimmemetal.com.

Skelethal Guest DJ Special – French death bringers Skelethal will unleash their Unveiling The Threshold LP later this month via Hells Headbangers. With an added guitarist and raw but rich studio sound their second LP takes a stride forward. Relentless buzzing guitars, stop/start proficiency, and ripping vocals from Guillaume Zeller alternate between raspy screams and woofer-flapping guttural growls. Indecent and obscene, Unveiling The Threshold is the proof that Skelethal are not here to crawl, but to climb to the very top of the Swedeath food chain. Don’t miss the band’s GIMME METAL takeover!

Possessed Guest DJ Special –  Vocalist Jeff Becerra is back! Possessed’s Seven Churches debut was unleashed in 1985, and not only opened the gates for death metal (Becerra coined the term itself in 1983), but weighed in with profound impact on legions of forward-thinking musicians for decades to follow. Recorded during the band’s junior high school spring break (!), Seven Churches opens with a lift from the version of “Tubular Bells,” famously used in The Exorcist blasting into the track of the same name. From then on, the world is greeted with one of the most relentless, maniacal metal records of the 1980s — one that has rightly earned classic status. A Seven Churches reprint was GIMME METAL’s first blowout Vinyl Club offers, which Becerra kindly pumped up on his first special. GIMME is very pleased to welcome Becerra back to the DJ seat for another show brimming with his metal faves.

Sarcator Guest DJ Special – Sarcator is composed of four 16-to-20-year-olds from Sweden, but if you heard the band without us telling you that, you’d assume they were oldschool ragers! It’s fitting then that they fit the blackened thrash mold because their very name is a hybrid of Sarcófago and Kreator! Their self-titled release on Redefining Darkness was recorded and mixed by The Crown’s Marko Tervonen, who happens to be the father of songwriter/guitarist /vocalist Mateo. All hails to Sarcator for their GIMME guest DJ stint!

Gimme 5 Featuring Interviews With Nocturnus AD, Tombs, Benediction, Armored Saint and Deafkids – This episode of GIMME 5 finds Jet catching up with sci-fi death metal veterans Nocturnus AD on their Paradox LP, NY/NJ metal faction Tombs on their recently issued Under Sullen Skies long player,  British death metal legends Benediction on their Scriptures offering, American heavy metal heroes Armored Saint and their Punching The Sky LP, and Brazllian psych-noise power trio Deafkids and their collaborative album with the UK’s Petbrick entitled Deafbrick. Don’t miss it! Tune in November 24th at 5:00pm EST / 2:00pm PST.

Agalloch Guest DJ Special – Disbanded in 2016, Portland-based Agalloch were clearly a visionary ensemble whose waves of influences still ripple throughout contemporary music. Drawing from avant, folk, prog, and black metal lines, the group extracted ideologies from everything from paganism, Norse mythology, the writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson and more, with a specific spotlight on nature as religion. Agalloch even incorporated unusual instrumentation that included animal skulls, their discography expanding over five full length LPs and many EPs are stray tracks as well. GIMME METAL welcomes bassist Jason Walton for a guest DJ special with a playlist showcasing some of the influences that made the band special and unique.

Wytch Hazel Guest DJ Special – Over the past near-decade, Lancashire, UK medieval metal phenomenon Wytch Hazel have been honing an uncommonly wholesome, rustic, and devotional brand of timewarped hard rock that’s all their own, with 2016’s Prelude and 2018’s II: Sojourn summoning to mind fevered images of Robin Hood and his Merry Men grooving to Jethro Tull and Thin Lizzy. Yet within moments of pressing play on their third LP, III: Pentecost (Bad Omen Records), the musty mystical minstrelsy takes a back seat in favour of a rich, sumptuous, anthemic late-night drivetime vibe, passionately embracing the most high-end smash-hit classic rock and metal circa its late 1970s heyday. Wytch Hazel vocalist Colin Hendra brings the band’s medieval tales and articulate whimsy to GIMME METAL for a guest DJ special. Don’t miss it!
