Listen HERE
Taking the world by surprise with its debut during the opening night of GHOSTâs first ever feature film RITE HERE RITE NOW, the never-before-heard âThe Future is a Foreign Landâ is cause for celebration amongst the millions of fans of GHOSTâs legendary 1969 era. Long thought lost to the sands of time, âFutureâ¦â is the third song from the GRAMMY-winning Swedish theatrical rock iconsâ timeless 1969 sessions featuring Papa Nihil fronting an early incarnation of the band â the same lineup that blessed us with the now-classic Seven Inches of Satanic Panic single. That singleâs pair of GHOST swinging sixties staples â âKiss the Go-Goatâ and the RIAA-certified platinum Tik Tok phenomenon and Billboard Hot 100 breakthrough âMary on a Cross” â has become an unholy trinity with the unearthing of âThe Future is a Foreign Land.â While its wicked twangy guitar figures and portentous lyrics of an impending 1984 render the song instantly recognizable as an artifact of the era, âFutureâ¦â is suffused with presciently modern signatures of the contemporary GHOST sound. Ending with an optimistic nod to 2024, âFutureâ¦â was revealed to the children of the world during the end credits of RITE HERE RITE NOW‘s world premiere, and is the sole previously unreleased studio track to be included on the movieâs original soundtrack.

About GHOST
Accumulating nearly 10 billion streams, GRAMMY-winning Swedish theatrical rock band and global sensation GHOST continues to bring the âeuphoric spectacleâ (ROLLING STONE) of its live shows to ever-growing crowds, most recently on last yearâs triumphant RE-IMPERATOUR U.S.A. 2023, which hit more than two dozen North American cities before its two-night finale at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. In March 2022, THE LOS ANGELES TIMES reported in a Calendar cover story that GHOST had “conquered metal and the chartsâ when its fifth album IMPERA debuted at #1 in a sweep of the U.S. album charts, entering the BILLBOARD 200 at #2 and bowing at #1 in the band’s native Sweden, Germany and Finland, while cracking the top 5 in another half dozen or more countries. Featuring âSpillwaysââhailed as a âsweetly constructed rock tuneâ by THE NEW YORK TIMES and later reimagined with Joe Elliott of Def Leppardâand the GRAMMY-nominated âCall Me Little Sunshine,â GHOST’s fifth #1 at Active Rock radioâIMPERA moved ROLLING STONE to remark, âGHOST predicted the pandemic, now the metal band is foretelling the fall of empires.â The album presented the most current and topical GHOST subject matter to date set against a darkly colorful melodic backdrop making IMPERA a listen like no otherâyet unmistakably, quintessentially GHOST. Having closed out 2022 by cracking the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, with the RIAA platinum-certified âMary on a Cross,â as well as IMPERA winning Favorite Rock Album at the American Music Awards and Best Rock Album of the Year at the iHeart Radio Music Awards, GHOST unveiled PHANTOMIME, a five-song covers EP including the version of Iron Maidenâs âPhantom of the Operaâ that earned the band its fifth GRAMMY nomination. GHOSTâs seemingly limitless ambition will soon take the band to the silver screen with the June 2024 theatrical premiere of the feature film RITE HERE RITE NOW.
