August 8, 2023: Poland’s experimental/metal band, Whalesong has recently unleashed their new full-length album, Leaving A Dream.
 
Leaving A Dream – more than 120 minutes of bliss, hope, dreams and bright radiant light – the marvelous stream of consciousness. The album represents a sonic cinema for those who love to get lost in the sound. Composed in 2016-2020, Leaving A Dream was recorded in Antisound Studio, Poland in various days between 2020-2023.

Various guests on the album include: Attila Csihar (Sunn O))), Mayhem, Tormentor), Steve Blanco (Imperial Triumphant) and Wukir Suryadi (Senyawa).

Perfect music for fans of: Swans, Einstürzende Neubauten, Wovenhand, Glenn Branca, Anna von Hausswolff and Bohren & Der Club of Gore.

Whalesong is an experimental music collective from Poland and main group of Michal Kielbasa (Grave of Love, Lugola, Harmony of Struggle, NHC). It started in 2009 and since the very beginning the band has always been highly influenced by genres like industrial, noise rock, no wave and drone. Over time the group created a unique uncompromising style consisting of post rock, doom metal, jazz, psychedelic rock, neofolk and post punk.

Notwithstanding this, Whalesong music can’t be easily described with just one genre. But one thing is for sure – Whalesong doesn’t follow any trends and negates up-to-date fragmentary listening of music. Whalesong also understands the great value of dynamics and uses a huge variety of instruments: gongs, hammered dulcimer, tubular bells, theremin, vibraphone and also objects like sheet metal and springs. In recent years, the group worked with such artists like: Thor Harris (Swans, Wrekmeister Harmonies), Wacław Kiełtyka (Decapitated, Machine Head).
