MOMENT OF CONTACT
Moment of Contact is an exploration of extraterrestrial encounters, this one centered on a series of events in 1996 when citizens of Varginha, Brazil, reported seeing one or more strange creatures and a UFO crash. A number of locals, including a group of girls ranging in age from 14-21, had a close encounter with a being described as about 4 feet tall, with brown oily skin, a large head and huge red eyes. The town of Varginha was cordoned off by military and emergency response teams and two creatures were captured. Local military policeman Marco Cherese died under mysterious circumstances after allegedly handling one of the creatures. Fox’s documentary features interviews with key eyewitnesses, experts and officials including nuclear physicist and professional ufologist Stanton Friedman, Brazilian Air Force General Jose Carlos Pereira, and Brazilian ufologist Ademar Jose Gevaerd.

REVIEW – ‘MOMENT OF CONTACT’ is the latest UFO documentary film by filmmaker James Fox. The film is now available on most popular streaming platforms. ‘MOMENT OF CONTACT’ had a theatrical premiere on Monday, October 17th at the Regal L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California the night before its official release to the general public.
‘MOMENT OF CONTACT’ focuses on the Varginha UFO case, which gained notoriety in Brazil. Citizens of the area claim to have witnessed a UFO crash and then slide through a field. Subsequent eyewitness statements and other evidence indicate that a minimum of two aliens were spotted and taken into custody.
‘OUT OF THE BLUE’
Since the release of JAMES FOX’s first UFO-themed film ‘OUT OF THE BLUE’ in 2003, FOX has been a well-respected figure in the field of UFOs. After being turned on to the subject by a friend, which sparked a lifetime fascination in the director, he began to investigate the phenomenon for himself. FOX was amazed by the scale of it all. The central question was whether or not the United States government had intentionally suppressed or covered up the facts about UFOs. He realized this was the grandest narrative ever told, and he was determined to learn the truth. Film by film, witness by witness FOX tells the story.
‘I KNOW WHAT I SAW’
FOX’s sophomore documentary, ‘I KNOW WHAT I SAW,’ premiered in 2009 and revisited the controversial Phoenix Lights case by following top-level eyewitness accounts before the National Press Club. This was the film’s premise, and it was supplemented by cameos from prominent figures such as Arizona Governor Fife Symington, who, in a director’s cut of FOX’s first film, admitted to having seen the UFO and laughing it off as a hoax in order to calm an already frightened community. Governor Symington goes as far as to say that he believed it to be a “Alien Spacecraft.”
JAMES FOX, in contrast to most UFO filmmakers, treated his work seriously and omitted the typical filler, gimmicks, and flare that are employed to keep spectators interested in such films. His tales were intriguing enough, and both the writing and narration were top-notch. He did not require the standard fare of gimmicks due to the fact the movie provided everything required.
‘MOMENT OF CONTACT’
FOX focuses on a single instance in his latest film rather than attempting to rehash the entire history of UFO sightings. The year 1996 in the Brazilian city of Varginha. A string of occurrences known as the Varginha UFO incident took place. Numerous Varginha, Brazil locals, including military personnel and medical staff reported sightings of UFOs and/or odd beings. Throughout this new film, eyewitnesses claim they saw a second UFO circling the area following the crash, perhaps looking for survivors. The media reported that the Brazilian military had apprehended an alien or aliens. Later transferred to the United States for more in depth examination and investigation.
There are testimonies in this documentary that are so disturbing they will make your hairs stand on end. JAMES FOX and his team did an stellar job recounting an event that, while widely covered in the media in 1996, is surprisingly absent from most popular UFO films, programs, and the like.
SPARKING A REVIVAL OF UFO BELIEF
Every single individual on Earth should view ‘MOMENT OF CONTACT,’ not only those interested in UFOs and other unidentified flying objects. It’s unsettling to consider the possibility that this event actually occurred. The realization that we are not alone, and perhaps never were, is crucial. It’s possible that these UFOs and the beings inside them are invisible to us and or beyond our comprehension. It’s also possible that they’re keeping tabs on Earth and mankind as they had a part in our creation.
So long as even a single possibility exists, they are all viable alternatives. That’s why this is such a fascinating subject and why this film is pivotal to the story. This “creature” was frightened. The most plausible scenario is that they are in need of assistance. Finally, eyewitness accounts suggested that they were simply unfamiliar with the region. Not surprisingly, this involves Extraterrestrials being apprehended by a government. Our desire to learn about and perhaps militarize the aliens’ technologies and capabilities trumped our desire to show kindness to sentient beings.
