REVIEW – Gone From My Sight debuts a new album titled Twenty Twenty. The duo consisting of: Quinn Ramond (guitar, bass, synths, programming), Keith Watts (drums, programming, synths, piano, vocals) come together for a classic synth rock experience.
The opening song “Chrome Dynasty” starts off at a slow futuristic sounding pace before bringing in a perfectly timed bass and drums. Thought provoking lyrics “You know me better than I am” stick with the listener throughout the song. “Voices on a Plane” follows up with a knocking sound going into a bouncing beat throughout the song. “Float” starts off as a heart beat with a melancholy depth. The song transcends into a meditative state bringing a calm from chaos.
Gone From My Sight’s sound evokes similarities to the likes of Radiohead, Aphex Twin, Nine Inch Nails and LCD Soundsystem.
Named after the little blue “how to book” that hospices give to the dying, Gone From My Sight is a band loves their work and sharing their experiences.
After failing for years as producers and studio musicians for other artists (ranging in breadth from Destiny’s Child to the Shivers), the duo finally decided to do something more in line with their ideals. Debut album Twenty Twenty‘s unique indie rock and electronic sound is the result of that decision.
