TODAY IS THE DAY’s Acclaimed Eleventh Album No Good To Anyone Album Out Now Through BMG; New Videos, Livestreams, And More Impending

Long-running visionary metal act TODAY IS THE DAY released their psychedelic eleventh studio album, No Good To Anyone, at the end of February, their first for major label BMG.
No Good To Anyone is a crushing display of TODAY IS THE DAY’s singular psychedelic-yet-scathing sound and stands as a symbol of overcoming pain and adversity of the most extreme nature. The album was created over several years of Austin’s battle with several major surgeries and treatments on a myriad of levels including a vicious battle with Lyme Disease.
Recorded, mixed, and mastered by frontman Steve Austin at his Austin Enterprises in Orland, Maine, No Good To Anyone features contributions from DJ Cox, Tom Bennett, Marc Ablasou (Lae), and Willi Austin, and is completed with a cover painting created by Jef Whitehead (Leviathan, Lurker Of Chalice).
Upon its release, No Good To Anyone was met with incredible reactions from both media and fans alike which continues to flow in weeks after its street date. Amidst a storm of incredible reactions from major magazines and media outlets, the album continues to pillage at radio, having peaked at #5 on the North American College Chart and at #18 on the Metal Contraband radio chart.

TODAY IS THE DAY embarked on the forty-city No Good To Anyone Tour in support of the album, with The Obsessed, Child Bite, -16-, and others joining the action. However, the COVID-19 pandemic exploded, and the band was forced to end the trek midway through. Up until the time the untimely end to the tour, the crushing new live lineup with co-assassins Vishnu Reddy on drums and Tom Jack on bass and keyboards joining guitarist/vocalist Steve Austin had already proven itself as one of the best live incarnations of the band.
Steve Austin offers to the band’s diehard fanbase, “Tour was so amazing. The challenge of every day pushing harder and harder to play the music, the best you can. To play it better than the day before. The No Good To Anyone Tour was pure magic. Sharing the stage with Scott (Wino) and the Obsessed and Child Bite was family on the road. Everybody just going for it and lettin’ it go! I was bummed beyond that the second half of the tour was postponed. I wouldn’t take anything for the No Good To Anyone shows we were fortunate enough to play. Our fans and friends have been amazing through the release of the record. Meeting new fans at our shows and hearing the excitement about No Good To Anyone was just simply mind blowing. I’m home now writing new songs and working on a live stream and an outlaw country album. Biting at the bit to hit the road and come see ya’ as soon as I can. Love one another!”
Watch for new TODAY IS THE DAY announcements to post shortly, as the band is working on another official video from No Good To Anyone, Austin is planning new livestreams from his studio, and more. New tour dates will be scheduled once the ongoing pandemic is under control.
“…No Good To Anyone unleashes heaven and hell… its innards twist and writhe and burst. The opening title track blackens from an almost talking blues to Austin bellowing ‘I hate everyone’ over and over.” – Decibel Magazine
“…a tangible exploration of Austin’s discomfort and agitation… At the center of it all is Austin, his face impossible to look away from as he wails about excess with all the sweaty truth of someone who knows about trying to outrun his pain.” Kerrang!
TODAY IS THE DAY architect Steve Austin has been through hell and back over the last several years, and the band’s sinister new album No Good To Anyone tells listeners the story of that experience.” – Revolver Magazine
“Steve Austin is TODAY IS THE DAY, and is also one of the men responsible for giving the American South such a gritty, raw reputation when it comes to sludge and noise rock. He recently suffered major life scares, from Lyme Disease and a bus crash, and the grim reaper followed him onto this new record.” – New Noise Magazine
“There is no weak link in No Good To Anyone. There is no chink in the armor. It’s ironic that Steve’s personal struggles have yet again translated to an incredible musical experience. TODAY IS THE DAY proves to be as relevant as ever. 9/10” – Blabbermouth
“…gloomy goth singing, harsh shrieks, plodding sludge, whirlwind blastbeats, and more, and can change pace at the drop of a hat.” – BrooklynVegan
“No Good To Anyone gathers the complete essence of TODAY IS THE DAY… the weight suddenly dissipates and is overtaken by a blazing grind-infused blackened outbreak. Yet, despite these abusive assaults, TODAY IS THE DAY retain a psychedelic grip…” – PopMatters
