Everything Is Noise is currently streaming Necrodestiny, the debut EP from Oregonâs RIPPING REMAINS. The premiere comes in advance of the EPâs official release Friday, October 3rd via Satanik Royalty Records.
Germinated from the contaminated cadaver of Pacific Northwest death metal overlords Dripping Decay, RIPPING REMAINS emerges in 2025 to continue a legacy of catchy, horror-themed, oldschool death/grind. Returning from the Dripping Decay fold is vocalist Eric Stucke (also of Oregon blackened thrashers Hallucinator), whose reinstatement to the frontman role is characterized by the same patented intensity that fans have come to expect. Stucke also takes up the guitarists mantle for RIPPING REMAINS, stepping into the primary songwriting role with aplomb and unleashing a barrage of hook-laden, grinding opuses that blend brutality with infectiousness: a balance that all good extreme music should seek to strike.
Establishing RIPPING REMAINS alongside Stucke is former Dripping Decay drummer Jason âThe Machineâ Borton, known for his precise, extreme playing in addition to touring credits with groups like Jungle Rot, Skeletal Remains, and Ripped To Shreds. Borton joins bassist and Satanik Royalty Records founder Michael âFreiâ Freiburger, rounding out the rhythm section in proficient fashion, the group benefitting soundly from Freiâs paint-peeling backing vocals and commanding stage presence honed in his days with Deathcave and Brain Scraper.
Writes Everything Is Noise in part, âBeyond the spooky synth intro and news samples of âCarbonized Effluvium,â Necrodestiny kicks right into punchy grooves, chainsaw riffs, and a delightful dose of old school grind attitude on âNecrodestinyâ proper. âThe Horror Writes Itselfâ keeps the ball rolling with aplomb, while previously-released single âRub My Infection On Youâ flirts with some more nimble technicality in its riffwork. Myself, I found closer âMaternal Rotâ to be a personal favorite with its doomier intro and some positively eerie lead work, but thereâs really not a dull moment across Necrodestiny. Just seventeen minutes of brutal, oldschool funâ¦â

Necrodestiny was recorded by Derek Leisy, mixed by Greg Wilkenson, and mastered by Dan Lowndes. Cover artist Toni K. Hietomaa, himself an alumnus of Dripping Decayâs full-length, returns to create the accompanying visuals for the band, which include an unofficial mascot: âRippy.â The undead maniac with razor sharp claws is fittingly seen tearing himself free from the oozing corpse of his predecessor, the Hietomaa-penned âDrippy,â all while backed by a cityscape aflame and on the verge of collapse. A brief glance past over the cover art and onto the lyric sheet elucidates the Necrodestiny narrative: Without death, there can be no rebirthâ¦
