PLASTIC DOLLS is a brand new band with a life before. The life before: a punk-garage-blues band, starting as a duo (guitarboy, drumgirl) and ending up as a 7 piece band including a horn section. The Plastic Dolls released four very well received albums: ‘Boys are worse than girls’, ‘Blindfolded’, ‘The morning lasts forever’ and ‘Where is the world?’. Singer-songwriter Hans Ter Burg performed solo for a while, in Dutch clubs but also in Texas and New York. And the band had some hiccups in different line ups.
So what’s brand new? THE Plastic Dolls is PLASTIC DOLLS now. Energy, songs and sounds, all brand new. Elaborate lyrics, unpolished music. PLASTIC DOLLS walk the raw side. This is not a band making a restart with old stuff! The EP Off The Bench contains 6 songs about Blues, Baseball and other Bitches.

The Bench
A country ballad. Baseball player’s starting off the bench, his mind starts floating around the nine innings of his life. Of course the umpire is always wrong.
Ferry Girl (Album focus single)
Boy & girl are kissing goodbye, they take their time. The girl misses a few ferries but finally hops on. The boy is still waiting for her to come back. Ferries always return, but girls don’t…
The splendid artwork, showing how all the separate singles and tracks fit together to form a baseball field, is by Goof Vermeulen.
