NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 14, 2026) — Country recording artist and singer-songwriter Sarah Harralson will release her deeply personal new self-penned EP, Just The Beginning [stream/download], available on Friday, May 15 via Synapse Publishing & Entertainment. With writing credits on the entire EP, Harralson also co-wrote two of the tracks with Bill DiLuigi (Bonnie Tyler, Ashley Barron) and Georgia Miles. The project arrives alongside a companion short film premiering on YouTube [Watch here], offering an intimate look at precious childhood memories, family struggles, and life experiences that shaped both the artist and the music.
Rooted in honest storytelling and emotional vulnerability, Just The Beginning marks Harralsonâs most personal release to date.
âThis EP and short film is a collection of songs that I have written and co-written over the past few years about my childhood,â Harralson recalled. âIt’s very personal as I sing about the divorce of my parents, the loss of my Mom, and not seeing or speaking to my father for ten years.â
Harralson celebrated the release of the EP in an intimate release party and short film screening on May 13 in Nashville at The Bowery Vault. The event was hosted by Nan Puetz, President of Women In Film & Televisionâs Nashville chapter.
Harralson co-produced the EP with acclaimed producer Dale Penner (Nickelback, Loverboy) at The Owl in Nashville. The project blends classic country influences with soulful Americana textures and features contributions from standout musicians including Cole Edmonson (Tigirlily Gold) on guitar, David Santos on bass, Bryn Scott-Grimes (Goldpine) on harmonica, Merna Lewis on fiddle, Paul Ray on piano, and Harralsonâs husband, Andrew Kugler, on drums. Harralson also contributed acoustic guitar, organ, and harmony vocals throughout the record.
Early standout track âIt Canât Rain All The Timeâ earned praise from Nashville.com, which described the song as â…a moving, soul-tinged track…â Inspired by a memorable line from the cult-classic film The Crow, the song reflects on the loss of Harralsonâs mother in 2024 and serves as one of the emotional centerpieces of the EP.
The companion short film and official music video for âIt Canât Rain All The Timeâ were produced and directed by Dante Nazzaro for Synapse Spotlight Productions, further bringing Harralsonâs story to life through cinematic visuals and raw emotional honesty.
âYou also see this in the short film when I go back to Birmingham and Knoxville, where I’m from,â she continued. âI hope people can relate to that. I titled it Just the Beginning, because even though this is a big part of my life, my childhood, it doesn’t necessarily define all of me. There’s so much more to come!âÂ
