REVIEW – Lÿnx is a hard rock and metal band with a strong influence from the 1980s that is presently based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Lazer Wild, the band’s recording vocalist, and Blade, the band’s lead guitarist, founded the band in 2020, during the pandemic. Lÿnx came into being not long after the members Fangs on bass and Flash on drums signed on. For live performances, Ja6ur handles vocal duties for the band, while Blade plays the guitar, Fangs plays the bass, and Flash plays drums and percussion.
Lÿnx quickly set about composing unique songs that represent the flair and swagger of the past, while embracing the professional production and sharpness of their more modern rock counterparts.
Following the release of their first EP, which was simply titled “Lÿnx,” in February 2021, Bullzhorn Records helped Lÿnx release their second EP, titled ‘Long Live Rock N Roll,’ in September 2021. Since the group’s releases, they have had positive reviews across a variety of media outlets in Europe, Australia, and the United States, which has contributed to their rise to prominence.
Lÿnx has amassed a devoted and varied following throughout the globe as a result of their strong vocals, anthemic choruses, and scorching guitar solos, which have helped the band earn a name in the music industry. The band has been known to bring a lot of energy to the stage and to connect with their fans via their mutual love of rock music. Lÿnx wants to take its sound to even more extreme heights of rock so that they may continue to build on the momentum that was produced by the release of their debut.
Lÿnx opens the EP with the title track “Long Live Rock N Roll,” which has screaming guitars, crunchy riffs, hammering drums, thumping bass, and superb vocals. Lÿnx follows that stunning introduction with the stadium-rocking epic “Irresistible.” “Crazy Crazy World,” the next song, is a tremendously addictive tune that really shouts.
“Red Rocket,” the fourth tune, will have you rocking your air guitar, smashing your fists, and screaming. “Forged in Fire” is a powerful song that will engulf your spirit. “Paranoid,” the EP’s final track, is a full-fledged rocking interpretation of the BLACK SABBATH classic.
