REVIEW – COBRASPELL is slithering its way into the rebirth of ’80s glam and heavy metal, fronted by budding guitar star Sonia Anubis (Crypta, ex-Burning Witches). The international sleazy quintet consists of Alexx Panza (Hitten), guitarists Sonia Anubis and Esmée Van Sinderen, bassist Angelina Vehera, and drummer Léonard Cakolli.
With ‘Anthems Of The Night,’ the five-piece demonstrates their abilities and ambition to rule the world via guitar shredding, epic compositions, explosive stage shows, and infectious tunes.
‘Anthems Of The Night’ is a collection of four songs produced, mixed, and polished by Alejandro Gabasa Barcoj about sleazy love, partying all night, exceeding speed limits, and other stories of outright wickedness.
The opening “Addicted to the Night” has crunching guitars, screeching leads, hammering drums, thunderous bass, and soaring vocals. The listener’s senses will be overloaded as they fist pump and head bang to “The Midnight Hour.” “Steal My Heart Away” is a rather catchy tune that will stick with you for days. “Accelerate” utilizes crushing riffs, screaming leads, thunderous rhythms, and outstanding vocals.
The EP, which was recorded at Comeback Studios in Spain in December, is perfect for a late-night drive with the top down and the radio blasting.
