A Story of Survival, Loyalty, and the Dark Side of Machismo Culture
Written and directed by Eric Nazarian, DIE LIKE A MAN follows Freddy, a 17-year-old from LA’s Westside who is given a gun and tasked with proving himself to the veteran gangster he idolizes. As he is drawn deeper into the world of violence and crime, Freddy must confront the realities of the path he is about to take.
The film stars Miguel Angel Garcia (The Long Game) as the conflicted teen Freddy, with Cory Hardrict taking on the role of the ruthless gang father figure Solo, and Mariel Molino (CBS NCIS Origins) as love interest Luna. The cast also includes Frankie Loyal, Berenice Molina Valle, Cesar Garcia, and Pete Mark Vasquez.
Inspired by director Eric Nazarian’s own experiences as an Armenian immigrant growing up in a working-class neighborhood in Northeast Los Angeles, DIE LIKE A MAN shines a light on the cyclical nature of gang culture and the devastating effects of gun violence.
A Film with a Purpose
Beyond its gripping storytelling and intense performances, DIE LIKE A MAN serves as a reflection on the toxic codes of machismo that fuel gang culture. The film was made in collaboration with national non-profits such as Everytown for Gun Safety Support, Pico Youth and Family Center (PYFC), and Homeboy Industries, emphasizing its commitment to sparking meaningful conversations about violence and the paths available to at-risk youth.
The producing team behind the film includes Sundance award-winning producer Tommy Oliver (Going To Mars: The Nikki Giovanni Project) and co-star Cory Hardrict, who has also worked on Tyler Perry’s Divorce in Black.
Catch DIE LIKE A MAN on Digital & Cable VOD April 25th!
Mark your calendars! Whether in theaters in Los Angeles or on-demand, this is a must-watch film that promises to leave a lasting impact.
