Following the global success of his global smashes last year, “Are You With Me” and “Reality,” LOST FREQUENCIES—who was a festival favorite at this past Coachella upon his U.S. festival debut–hits the world with his brand new single “BEAUTIFUL LIFE.” Out now on Ultra Music, the song spotlights the Belgian’s production featuring sparkling guitar tones catchy flute melodies and featured vocalist Sandro Cavazza’s distinct timbre. This stunningly delicate tune redefines what can be referred to as feel-good music. It’s beautiful atmospheres for a beautiful world.
The “BEAUTIFUL LIFE” music video premiered on
Billboard this past Friday (6/3) with Elias Leight describing the single “…it opens with a voiceover expressing a universally nostalgic sentiment: ‘What if? What if we had the ability to relive a day in our past? To travel back in time? To feel that special moment again?’ But this is not a brooding track – a jaunty whistle kicks in shortly after the somber pronouncement; an acoustic guitar spews sunny notes; the kick drum is firm but not overly aggressive.” The song will also be featured in the official aftermovie for Tomorrowland Brasil. The highly-acclaimed festival touched down in the South American country in April and LOST FREQUENCIES himself performed at the main stage.
Felix De Laet a.k.a. LOST FREQUENCIES productions are bona fide smashes. He peaked with his song “Reality” featuring Janieck Davey at #1 on the singles charts in over ten countries and ruled European airplay charts for nine consecutive weeks. It reached platinum status in the Netherlands, Italy, GSA and Spain and peaked at #1 Dance Global and #4 on the general Shazam Charts with more than 7.5 million shazams. It also hit #30 on Spotify’s Top 100 tracks.
His other single “Are You With Me”-a reworking of country artist Easton Corbin’s track–made it to #47 Hall of Fame on Shazam and has reached platinum status in the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Switzerland, Spain & the U.K., with gold status in France, GSA, Russia & Canada. It spent eight weeks at #1 in the airplay charts Europe after four weeks at #2.
LOST FREQUENCIES is quickly gaining recognition for producing a new and intuitive style of quality music. It’s hard to believe that he began producing in earnest just three years ago after getting his very first computer. Growing up in a musical family, Felix played piano alongside his brothers from a young age. Never one to settle in place, De Laet takes his inspiration from hip-hop and jazz to drum n’ bass. He loves to incorporate the old (Lost Frequencies) into exciting remixes, and this love quickly turned into the need to produce original compositions.
