Profound Lore welcomes New Jersey/Washington DC-based death metal band KONTUSION to the label for the July 25th release of the band’s merciless debut album, Insatiable Lust For Death.

KONTUSION’s riffs, blasts, and walls of feedback reflect the darkness of a world marred by chaos, where large scale atrocities run amok. Drummer Chris Moore (Repulsion) and vocalist/guitarist Mark Bronzino (ex-Iron Reagan, Mammoth Grinder) represent the core of the band, with musicians emerging to fill out various lineups for live performances. With just a demo previously under their belt, KONTUSION has already toured throughout the East and West Coasts of the US, Midwest, and Texas, supported death thrash legends Deceased, and appeared at festivals such as Maryland DeathFest, and much more.

Now, KONTUSION arrives with the scathing, decimating, rapid-fire attack of their vile debut LP, Insatiable Lust For Death, its ten tracks immersing the listener in a cavernous, hellish tone, while the relentless riffs and percussion remain impeccably tight. Recorded by Chris Pierce at Volume IV Studios with additional tracking done at Damaged City Studios, Insatiable Lust For Death was mixed by Kevin Bernsten at Developing Nations, mastered by Nick Townsend at Townsend Mastering, and finished with artwork by Rotting Reign and layout by Aaren Molder.

With the lead single from Insatiable Lust For Death, “Throne Of Skulls,” Mark Bronzino states, “Charging, galloping riffs backed by stomping rhythms in the vein of Cianide, Convulse, and even the legends Carcass with what could potentially be called the ‘C beat,’ ‘Throne Of Skulls” lyrically tackles the path of destruction and death in the hell-bent pursuit of power concentrated into the hands of the few – a systematic death march humanity has endured from the time of medieval kings to the modern day boardroom. Tyrants taking their bloody throne upon the skulls of the crushed masses, set to the sounds of tremolo picked riffs and frenzied blasts.”
