A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot, the latest full-length from Australia’s KING PARROT, is out today on Housecore Records in North America!

KING PARROT frontman, Matt Young comments, “It’s been a long time coming, but we are beyond stoked to finally release our new record. The response and feedback we’ve received so far has been beyond our expectations and getting out on the road with this new set of songs has been a total blast.”

A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot marks KING PARROT’s first new output in five years. A hostile and abrasive slab of sensory destroying anthems, the record features ten thoroughly crafted blasts through the psyche of this crazed Aussie quintet. Recorded at Melbourne’s Dangertone studios with engineer Luke Walton, it’s the first full-length album since 2017’s critically adored Ugly Produce offering and their first new music since 2022’s Holed Up In The Lair EP.

Applying a similar approach to the writing process of their previous records, which has been historically organic and old-school, KING PARROT adopted a new approach to the studio process. Pulling the new record together was a meticulously creative endeavour and the final product is the most complete, aggressive, and urgent the band has ever sounded.

Earlier this year, KING PARROT completed a monstrous thirty-five date arena tour through Europe and the UK supporting Pantera and Power Trip followed by a full European club tour with death metal pioneers Master. The band is currently in the midst of an eleven-date Australian tour.

In July, KING PARROT will return to the States to support Acid Bath and Pentagram at the Brooklyn Paramount Theatre in Brooklyn, New York July 25th before joining The Heaviest Tour Of The Summer featuring Pantera and Amon Amarth throughout the US. For tickets, visit kingparrot.net.

“…a crazed exercise in mayhem…” – Sentinel Daily

“…a defiant statement of identity, chaos and craft…” – Heavy Mag

“It’s ugly, dirty, nasty, and full of rage-filled angst.” – Decibel Magazine on “Get What Ya Given”

“A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot is the band’s most consistent one yet putting a jolt into a young person’s day one sonic sledgehammer at a time.” – Heavy Music HQ

KING PARROT have evolved into something uglier and nastier, and considering how much time they’ve spent playing with Pantera, it seems appropriate to compare. If Bite Your Head Off is their Vulgar Display Of Power and Ugly Produce is their Far Beyond Driven, then this is their Great Southern Trendkill – harsher and darker than what has come before, and which will probably be looked back on as a fan-favorite in the years to come. Fans, rejoice, because this just might be your new favorite KING PARROT record … and if it isn’t, tough shit, you’ll ‘Get What Ya Given.’” – Sense Music Media

“It spits in the face of our waning humanity and gives a middle finger to the puppet masters pulling the strings. KING PARROT grind all the way through with aggression, attitude, and a message of sovereignty and independence.” – Metal On Tap

“…make sure to shower after listening…  you will feel grimy, in a good way.” – Ghost Cult
