The Emptiness of Gravity EP Due Out May 21
Kansas hardcore act REVISIONIST has revealed a video for “Half Moon,” the latest single from the quartet’s upcoming six-song EP, The Emptiness of Gravity.
.
“We wrote this almost entirely in the studio and it just came together,” says vocalist Eric Martin. “It is definitely the most unique song on the EP, I think it’s going to catch people off guard in a good way.”
Adds guitarist Josh Barbee, “‘Half Moon’ just drips vibe. Creating movement with dynamics that just drip rock and roll.”
Founded in Wichita in 2016, REVISIONIST formed with the intent to do one simple thing – write unrelentingly honest music, devoid of any gimmicks. Harkening back to the chaos driven sounds of early 2000s-era hardcore and metal, REVISIONIST pulls no punches and delivers on that promise on The Emptiness of Gravity.
The Emptiness of Gravity was recorded at Rio Grande Studios in Albuquerque with Aaron Gillespie (Underoath, Paramore, The Almost).
“‘The Emptiness of Gravity’ is a pissed off, honest offering, purging emotions built over the past couple years,” Barbee says. “Struggle inspires us and drives us to be more. In a world of processed clones and emotions, it is a brand new scene.”
The Emptiness of Gravity track listing:
1. Violence Golden
2. Half Moon
3. Deathbed Kings
4. Panic Burn
5. Wasteland Dreams
6. Night Chills
“Revisionist has always been a band to write the most honest music we could,” says drummer Josh Peavy. “With this EP, we wanted to incorporate some different elements that no one has heard us do before and I think that we did that without sacrificing who we are as a band.”
REVISIONIST is endorsed by ESP Guitars, Enki Cases and Engl Amps.
