We get a lot of questions on what it’s like working in the music industry and with some of your favorite artists. We thought of no better way to give y’all some insight, than hosting our very own Industry Week on #OffstagewithDWP!

Kicking off Industry Week on Tuesday is metal ambassador, Jose Mangin! Jose is a super-host and brand ambassador extraordinaire, working on Sirius XM’s Octane and LiquidMetal, Affliction, Zippo and many more. Whether you know him from listening to him on Sirius XM every day, or from our events, we’re stoked to have the opportunity to “interview the interviewer”! In this episode, we go “under the hood” with Jose and talk about his childhood, how he went from going to school to be a pharmacist to where is is today, what inspires him, and the best Slayer show he’s ever been to. Watch Jose’s Q&A, HERE!

Wednesday we touch base with Ken Fermaglich, Partner/Agent at United Talent Agency. Ken is responsible for big-name artists such as Guns N’ Roses, Muse, Paramore, Haley Williams of Paramore, Reel Big Fish, Alter Bridge, Seether, Bush, A Day To Remember, 3 Doors Down and SO many more. Gary Spivack and Ken reflect back to their earlier days in radio and touring world (pre-festivals), Ken’s younger years and his discovery and love of the band Rush, how he views the music industry as “the people business” and shifting from one band to another, and his passion for finding new bands. Watch Ken’s Q&A, HERE!

Remember That Metal Show? … Who Doesn’t?! On Thursday we have a very special industry moment with former-host, Eddie Trunk, an American rock history expert. You won’t want to miss this Q&A where Gary and Eddie talk his obsession with the music industry and how he could share music with others in the most respectable way. Hear how The Raspberries and Kiss set the pathway into Eddie’s pathway to rock music, Eddie’s view on the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame (or *Shame*), new bands he loves (but isn’t quick to hop on a bandwagon for), and a fun #EncoreRound where Gary “Stumps the Trunk”. Watch Eddie’s Q&A HERE!

To close out Offstage with DWP’s Industry Week, we wanted to host one of the most well-known manager names out there, David “Beno” Benveniste. Beno is the CEO of Velvet Hammer Music & Management Group, and he manages some of your favorite bands such as: System of a Down, Korn, Deftones, Alice In Chains, The Smashing Pumpkins, AFI and Code Orange. In this installment of #OffstagewithDWP, catch Gary and Beno geek out to shows they went to in the ’80s in Los Angeles, why Alice In Chains checks all of Beno’s music boxes, Beno’s street wise mechanism and managing up-and-coming young bands (Beno started this with System of a Down), along with what it’s like to be a manager for such big and incredible bands. Watch Beno’s interview, HERE.
