New Music Review: HAPPY FREUDS ‘Echo of Sounds’

REVIEW – Javea, Spain based quarter Happy Freuds introduce the listener to their new debut album: “Echo of Sounds.” Embracing the sound of 1970s rock, the eleven track album delivers a diverse engaging ride.

The first song “Push” starts with a bouncy rock infested experience. Powerful guitar chords and a heavily featured bass bring the song together. “The Mountain” features a heavy 70s influence through an even keeled steadiness and then busting out into a fast paced rock sound. “Background Noise” is a slower paced acoustic folk inspired song the changes the pace. “Chauncey” has a ripping groove that keeps the listener on their feet. “Song X” has great guitar hooks resonating with a steady drum beat. The next to last song “Overcome” is a softer song that keeps the rock theme but brings things down a notch. The final track “Rocking & Stumbling” brings the album to full circle with great hooks and an essential listening experience.

Happy Freuds perform a diverse blend of original material, rearrangements of works from others and selected, less known, classic rock. The band exhibits energy and a love of music in their work. This album is a must listen.
