Comments bassist Cam Dewald, “After the dismal year known as 2020, we’re starting 2021 off with a sonic/visual punch in the face! We have a short set being featured on Metal Injection’s Slay At Home series, as well as a killer cover song some friends and I put together! As for what the rest of 2021 has to offer? All I can say is, keep an eye out because we spent the last year or so in the lab…”

GORGATRON released their Pathogenic Automation full-length last Summer independently on CD with worldwide digital distribution by Blood Blast, a newly launched service powered by Nuclear Blast and Believe Music. Anchored in the old-school stylings of death and thrash, the critically lauded nine-track Pathogenic Automation was recorded by the band, mixed and mastered by GORGATRON guitarist Neal Stein (El Supremo, Egypt), and spews forth a forty-one-minute maelstrom of sonic brutality punctuated by a variety of introspective themes.

Forged in 2006 and named in honor of a giant Mooninite that appeared in Aqua Teen Hunger Force, GORGATRON has released two full-lengths — 2010’s debut Torturtorium and 2015’s Inner Supremacy. Lauded by underground media in the proverbial know, Teeth Of The Divine championed the band’s, “awesome, crushingly groovy death,” Toilet Ov Hell crowned them, “hella-fucking-balls-to-the-wall-awesome,” adding, “GORGATRON delivers headbanging riffs enough to give even the most static of concert goers a stiff neck,” while Zombie Ritual ‘Zine hailed, “an excellent piece of brutal and destructive death metal.” GORGATRON has embarked on multiple DIY tours and appeared on various metalfests nationwide sharing stages with the likes of such acts as Anthrax, Testament, The Black Dahlia Murder, Goatwhore, Skeletonwitch, Anal Cunt, Defeated Sanity, Anal Blast, Origin, Pathology, Machine Head, Vital Remains, Havok, Weedeater, Devourment, and many others.
“Suffocation-style riff madness, blastbeats, throat-tear from Karl Schmidt = significant synapse destruction here.” – Metal Injection
“…a seriously stout slab of slicing savagery… GORGATRON is intricate without being busy – riffs fly past constantly; they twist and turn and dance around one another in lockstep with on-a-dime rhythmic shifts; but never once does any note or sequence overstep its place. GORGATRON is old-school without feeling like retread — they play to a Platonic ideal of vintage-sounding death. They can blast, but they spend much of their time operating at a bulldozer midtempo…. – Last Rites
“Whatever light-hearted antics they engage in behind the scenes, their music is steeped in disdain and fury, a barrage of unrelenting death metal. That description isn’t hyperbole; for forty-plus minutes, the album is a consistent, exploding powder keg with limited exceptions.” – Heavy Music HQ
“Songs like these live and die by the quality of their riffs and these are some prime rib riffs indeed. Tempos shift on a dime and riffs have room to breathe, swirling round one another without suffocating.” – Distorted Sound
“There could not be a better time to introduce GORGATRON to your life. The undercurrent of instability plaguing the nation now from both a medical crisis and a social one adds to just how poignant a moment this is. The masses need an absorbing, brutal, cathartic release such as only metal can provide and this band provide it in a highly polished, technically proficient, groove-focused package.” – Metal Temple
“…death-grind force that aim to inflict blunt force trauma on their listeners…” Scream Blast Repeat
“The record does a great job of smashing your skull into obscurity over a forty-minute period but without overkill causing any harm to itself. Trying to save yourself from blowing your neck out is futile as there are no moments to catch your breath across the entire recording.” – Ghost Cult
