No Clean Singing is currently streaming, Dawn Of Annihilation, the debut full-length from Oakland, California-based black death outfit FUNERAL CHANT, in its delightfully devastating entirety. The exclusively premieres comes in advance of the record’s official release November 1st via Carbonized Records

Recorded and produced by the band in 2020, mixed and mastered by Justin Divver at Santo Studio in Oakland, California and elsewhere in 2020, with artwork and layout by Voidbringer, Dawn Of Annihilation contains eight tracks of brutal, unrelenting sonic madness; a cacophonous symphony of sublime sickness.

Offers No Clean Singing of the release, “In these eight new tracks FUNERAL CHANT again leave us slack-jawed and bug-eyed at just how wild their fusion of black metal, death metal, and thrash really is. The super-heated savagery of the music stands out, through full-throttle drum assaults, maniacally boiling riffage, solos that scream, squirm, and soar in displays of freakish lunacy and eerie incandescence, and maddened vocals of utmost hostility and hunger.”

FUNERAL CHANT’s Dawn Of Annihilation will be unleashed worldwide on CD, cassette, and digitally on November 1st followed by a vinyl release in January of 2022. Find preorders at the Carbonized Bandcamp page HERE and webstore HERE.

FUNERAL CHANT was forged in 2014 with the aim of writing chaotic and horrifying death metal by combining the traditions of early black, death, and thrash metal with the wild and innovative spirit that dominated the early days of traditional heavy metal. Influenced by the likes of Necrovore, Darkthrone, and Morbid Angel, the project is fueled by a preoccupation with the many forces and concepts of death, darkness, and evil.

The band independently released a self-titled EP on cassette and digital formats in February 2017, which was released on LP and CD by Duplicate Records and Caverna Abismal Records later that year. Observed No Clean Singing of the band’s output, “The band walks a fine line between berserker chaos and the kind of intricate instrumental inventiveness and rhythmic dynamism that produces fascination. It’s a high-wire display of acrobatics, but FUNERAL CHANT is so nimble that they don’t lose their balance no matter how fast they’re flying along that thin cord.” Added Cvlt Nation, “FUNERAL CHANT‘s music however is not only made of speed and negativity. There is some serious musicianship shining through the slim crevices of tightly woven chaos they summon, with many passages materialized through insane tempo changes, ripping and unpredictable rhythms, and dueling guitars that design astonishing solos battling each other for complete domination – just as you’d see in bands like Mercyful Fate or Judas Priest.”

FUNERAL CHANT:
Cruel Force – drums
Doom Of Old – guitar
Infernal Spectre – bass
Voidbringer – vocals, guitar

“‘Oneiric Perversion’ locks into its warp-speed groove right from the jump and doesn’t let up for its three-plus-minute runtime, only occasionally breaking out of its riff vortex to introduce a series of miniature, whammy-riding guitar solos. It sounds like early Slayer with even more eye makeup, and it kicks ass.” – Decibel Magazine on “Oneiric Perversion”

“Dawn Of Annihilation is darkness on ‘roids. It’s a true metal mayhemic release that is as uncompromising as it is heavy.” – Metal Roos
