INFRARED: Where did you do your recording at?

ABIOSIS: We recorded this album through our buddy Brian at Pale Magus Productions.  He is a former member of the band Bloodfreak and he also has his own current project called Powerbeast in Portland.  Brian has recorded several albums over the years and has really dialed in his craft.

INFRARED: Why did you choose to make it a concept album?

A. We decided to make our full length a conceptual album because it removes the restraint of having to force some badass lyrical content into a limited amount of time, like in one track.

INFRARED: How did you choose that subject?

ABIOSIS: When we wrote the album we were all struggling to make ends meet in various ways and playing music together was our escape from the pressures and stress of life, it also gave us something to constantly look forward to. We had a lot of hatred to put into music and lyrics and the target of that hatred (at least to myself and Logan who are the primary lyricists) became organized religion and the real reason behind that I think, is because within any organized religion you’ll find extreme members who do really terrible things to their fellow man.  They justify it through a false set of morals that have been created by people whom they’ve never met which also describes a large part of our society today. That being said, not everyone who identifies with a religion act like that by any means but it did allow us to have a designated enemy to use as an outlet for own personal hatred. With everything we had to say on the subject we decided to base the entire album on this thing which would give us the room to display everything that we had to say on the subject.

INFRARED: What part of the process do you like more playing live, recording or creating the music?

ABIOSIS: My favorite part of the process is creating the music. I love to use my guitar as an outlet to the things that bring me down and when I’ve had a shit day but can come home and use my frustration to write some brutal shit it makes the day feel productive.

INFRARED: If you could tour any country what  would be your first choice?

ABIOSIS: If I could tour any country it would be Germany. So much badass metal comes out of there I’m sure they have a killer scene to go with it. The country itself is also an amazing place to see filled with incredible historical sites and great beer.

INFRARED: What do you see happening for ABIOSIS in 2019?

ABIOSIS: We’ve spent the last several months individually writing and coming up with material for another album, so our main focus for 2019 is to spend as much time together learning each other’s new content and preparing for album numero dos.

INFRARED: If you could choose any band in the world to do a show with who would it be?

ABIOSIS: Unfortunately since Dissection and Spawn of Possession are out of the question I’d love to tear it up with the dudes from Gorgasm again.  They write some of the best music in my opinion and can seriously lay it down live.

INFRARED: After seeing your last show,  I have to ask:  have you accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and savior?

ABIOSIS: There is only one man who walked this Earth and achieved the status of a demi-god and that is Dr. James Crow the creator of Old Crow bourbon or maybe Bruce Campbell.

INFRARED: Is there anything you would like to add?

ABIOSIS: The only thing I’d like to add is,  I farted at work today and someone else got blamed for it.

Thank you to all the members of ABIOSIS for your time and a great live show.  I will also like to take the time to say I hereby relinquish all responsibility for any demons that will be summoned by listening to this hypnotic spiritual slaying badassery.   \m/
