Jason Crews is the owner and editor of INFRARED MAGAZINE and a Dallas–Fort Worth-based music journalist and concert photographer. Through INFRARED MAGAZINE and JASON CREWS PHOTOGRAPHY, he covers rock, metal, country, and live music with a focus on album reviews, artist features, concert coverage, and photography. A PERFECT CIRCLE shared a 2D clip for TalkTalk from the ambitious hologram-film companion to the band’s 2018 album Eat the Elephant.
The visual project was directed by photographer and filmmaker Steven Sebring and was designed as a companion experience to the 12-song album. The full film runs approximately 58 minutes and follows a young girl across the album’s narrative arc.
The physical deluxe presentation used a prism placed on a smartphone to create the holographic viewing effect, combining the album’s music with a visual component intended to restore some of the tactile experience associated with physical music releases.
TalkTalk was one of the tracks released during A Perfect Circle’s return with Eat the Elephant, the group’s first full-length studio album since 2004’s eMOTIVe.
The project further expanded the visual identity surrounding the record and the band’s return to active recording.
