REVIEW – Rock powerhouse DOROTHY is set to return with her highly anticipated fourth studio album, The Way, dropping March 14, 2025, via Roc Nation. Known for her raw, powerhouse vocals and a blend of bluesy grit and hard rock intensity, Dorothy Martin has built a reputation as one of the most dynamic frontwomen in modern rock. With The Way, she takes things further, weaving heavy rock elements with Southern swagger, gospel-tinged harmonies, and deeply personal storytelling.

Opening with “I Come Alive,” the album kicks off with an electrifying anthem of resilience and empowerment, fueled by soaring vocals and gospel harmonies. “The Devil I Know” follows with a stomping groove, maintaining the album’s relentless energy. “Mud On Ya” delivers a heavy, riff-driven punch, further cementing DOROTHY’s unapologetic rock attitude.

A highlight of the album, “Tombstone Town” [feat. Slash], is a fierce, Southern-infused barnburner, bringing Dorothy’s gritty storytelling to life with a searing guitar solo from the legendary Slash. The song tells a tale of revenge, wrapped in an unshakable melody and anthemic chorus.

The emotional core of the album shines in “Bones”, where Dorothy’s powerhouse vocals take center stage in a track filled with gothic Southern imagery and a theme of rebirth and redemption. “Unholy Water” builds on this theme with dark, blues-infused melodies, while “Haunted House” delves into self-destructive tendencies and the search for salvation, carried by haunting lyrics and a smoldering groove.

As the album nears its close, “Putting Out The Fire” and “Super Human” bring dynamic shifts in energy, showcasing DOROTHY’s ability to seamlessly blend power and vulnerability. The record reaches its conclusion with the deeply moving title track, “The Way”, where Dorothy delivers a stripped-down, acoustic-driven moment of hope and reflection.

The Way is a statement record—one that fully embraces Dorothy Martin’s evolution as an artist while delivering the fiery, soul-stirring rock that fans have come to love. From its anthemic highs to its introspective depths, The Way is a triumphant album filled with passion, grit, and authenticity.
