REVIEW – New York based Lightning Hunter showcases a new listening experience titled: “Beyond Beyond.” The ten song album features a different tone for each track.
The first song “The Role of the Observer” brings out an old western adventure feel. Music keeps rumbling along with the drum sound before going into the lyrics about 2 and a half minutes in. The next track “In a Dog’s Dream” slows down the pace with a contemplating mood. “Giving All Things Credence” is a prog rock piece with rock infused 1980s guitars and retro lyrics. “Aeolean Prism” starts off with a calming trance before moving into a floating like experience. “Pleroma” features a steady beat with the drums and guitars playing in tandem with a haunting chorus in the background. The title track “Beyond Beyond” closes the album on a dreamy somber note.
Lightning Hunter is a side project of Charles Scandura. The group’s sound has been compared to A Perfect Circle, The Cure, Interpol, and Soundgarden.
