ARCHIVE NOTE: Original release date: May 29, 2026. This entry was added to INFRARED’s restored editorial archive in September 2026.

Country superstar TIM McGRAW returned with his first new music in more than a year with two new songs, “Pawn Shop Guitar” and “Song for America.” The releases arrived through McGraw Music under exclusive license to Turbo Tonk Records and opened a new chapter ahead of McGraw’s 2026 summer tour.

“Pawn Shop Guitar” draws directly from McGraw’s early years as a struggling musician. The autobiographical song looks back on the sacrifices, small-town beginnings and determination that helped shape his career. “Song for America” takes a broader view, reflecting on the country and its people as the United States approached its 250th anniversary.

TIM McGRAW RETURNS WITH PERSONAL NEW MUSIC

The two-track release followed a period in which McGraw stepped back from extensive touring and recording while dealing with back and knee issues. That time away gave him room to reflect on his life and write from a more personal perspective, setting the tone for this latest material.

  • “Pawn Shop Guitar” — an autobiographical look at McGraw’s earliest days chasing a music career.
  • “Song for America” — a reflective track released ahead of America’s 250th anniversary.

PAWN SHOP GUITAR TOUR BRINGS TIM McGRAW TO DALLAS

The new music arrived as McGraw prepared for the Pawn Shop Guitar Tour, a 33-date North American run produced by Live Nation. The tour includes a Dallas stop at Dos Equis Pavilion on September 11, 2026.

That Dallas date is included on INFRARED’s DFW + BEYOND: Dallas–Fort Worth Concert Calendar, where readers can track upcoming North Texas shows currently on the magazine’s radar.
