To mark the announcement, the band release ‘Point of Coalescence’ as the album’s lead single, accompanied by an official music video. The track was chosen as the entry point to Graveyards of Joy for a reason: it is dense, dark and uncompromising, dealing in shame, violence and the slow erosion of consciousness, with surreal and cosmic horror imagery that gives the song an unsettling, almost theatrical edge.

Graveyards of Joy channels grief, anger and hard-won hope through a sound rooted in the slow-burning weight of classic doom and dramatic rock, while leaving considerable space for melody and atmosphere to do their work. Vast Hammond-driven passages give way to desolate folk; strings with a Morricone-like openness sit alongside heavy, anchoring riffs. The album draws on a wide range of reference points, from the orchestral sweep of Vangelis and the Hammond warmth of Deep Purple to the dramatic sensibility of Tindersticks and Nick Cave, without losing the solemnity that defines the band’s identity. It is a DIY record, produced with a modern, alternative edge rather than nostalgic reconstruction.
Graveyards of Joy is out July 3rd via Season of Mist.
