KING PARROT: Metal Injection Premieres “It’s A Rort” Video; US Tour With Gwar Underway

Australian extreme metal maniacs KING PARROT are pleased to present a video for “It’s A Rort.” Now playing at Metal Injection, the footage was filmed live at their recent headlining appearance at Flippin’ The Bird Festival in Frankston, Australia.

The video captures the live ferocity of the crazed Aussie quintet in full flight with a rabid audience lapping up the reckless and infectious energy. Lifted from their most recent studio offering, A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot, this new cut has been a staple in the band’s live set on their US tour alongside Gwar and Soulfly, currently underway with the catch cry, “When the going gets tough you can go and get fucked” being chanted by audiences all across the nation.

Following their hugely successful tour with Pantera and Amon Amarth last Summer, KING PARROT wasted no time in returning to the US with an invitation from Gwar and Soulfly being locked in late last year. With shows on the West Coast and through the South of the country to follow in the coming weeks, it’s not too late to catch KING PARROT tear up a stage near you!

Comments vocalist Matt Young, “When we started playing ‘It’s A Rort,’ we felt that the audience participation factor for the hardcore style breakdown at the end might make it a crowd favorite. It felt like a no-brainer to make a video for this song and when we headlined Flippin’ The Bird in February, we felt it was the right moment to capture the live intensity of the song. ‘Rort’ is a common term we use back home when you’re getting ripped off, scammed, or lied to. We’ve recently found out that ‘rort’ is not a word commonly used in the US so we’ve spent time explaining it to people, as we feel like it’s a pretty apt time to use it!”

KING PARROT’s A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot full-length is out now on Housecore Records in North America. A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot marks the band’s first new output in five years. A hostile and abrasive slab of sensory destroying anthems, the record features ten thoroughly crafted blasts through the psyche of this crazed Aussie quintet. Recorded at Melbourne’s Dangertone studios with engineer Luke Walton, it’s the first full-length album since 2017’s Ugly Produce offering and their first new music since 2022’s Holed Up In The Lair EP.

Applying a similar approach to the writing process of their previous records, which has been historically organic and old-school, KING PARROT adopted a new approach to the studio process. Pulling the new record together was a meticulously creative endeavour and the final product is the most complete, aggressive, and urgent the band has ever sounded.
