SONO Music is proud to announce the release of “Crisalide,” the highly anticipated EP by Italian singer-songwriter and guitarist, CARRESE. The EP is set to be released on May 2025 and will be available on all major music platforms.
“Crisalide” is a six-track EP that takes listeners on a journey through the deepest folds of the soul. Each track unfolds like a chapter of a personal story, where solitude becomes both a refuge and a prison. The protagonist, trapped in a shell of hidden emotions, confronts her fears and uncertainties, exploring the depths of her being.
CARRESE, also known as Roberta Carrese, is a talented artist from Rome, Italy. Growing up as the youngest of five siblings, she discovered her love for music at a very young age by picking up her father’s guitar. At the age of 19, she moved to Rome to pursue her artistic calling, leaving her hometown in the province of Caserta behind. Her early years in Rome were crucial for her career, as she had numerous opportunities to perform live and collaborate with other artists.
In 2015, CARRESE made it to the second place in the third season of The Voice of Italy, a popular music talent show aired on Rai2. After her television experience, she spent the next two years touring all over Italy. In 2017, she graduated with a degree in Cinema, TV, and New Media and focused on writing her first musical project.
In 2020, with the production of Marta Venturini, CARRESE released “Smart,” the first of a series of singles available on major music platforms. In September 2022, after a physically and emotionally challenging period due to heart surgery, CARRESE released her first EP, “Valvola,” preceded by the single “Squali” feat. Gemello.
In the last two years, CARRESE has been working on writing new songs and experimenting with a new sound with producer Vincenzo Pizzi, the founder of Pyteca. The result is “Crisalide,” a six-track EP characterized by strong electronic beats. The EP is set to be released in May 2025 by SONO Music Group.
When asked about her new EP, CARRESE commented, “Crisalide is my new EP, a sonic journey that explores the duality between light and darkness. My metamorphosis becomes music: I chose electronic beats to unleash my energy, while the lyrics reveal my hidden vulnerabilities. Through every note, I tell my story and my evolution.”
