THE DREAD CREW OF ODDWOOD is touring in support of their freshly released fifth album, Rust & Glory, a thirteen-song treasure-trove of all-acoustic rippers which present a finely honed sound and creative voice that is truly unlike anything else in the metal scene today. From anthems like “Lawful Evil” and “Leather Ship” to drinking songs like “Give Me Your Beer” and “Corpse Juice Medley,” the album is sure to get heads banging, feet stomping, and audiences singing across the globe.

Recorded at Seahorse Sound Studios in Los Angeles, THE DREAD CREW OF ODDWOOD enlisted the help of fellow folk metal musician Anna Murphy (Cellar Darling, ex-Eluveitie) who engineered, produced, and mixed the record, her input and expertise helping push Rust & Glory forward as the finest collection of songs the band has created to date. Several guests joined the party, with double bass by Bass Princess, hurdy gurdy by Anna Murphy, and additional vocals by Anna Murphy and Madison Lowery. As with their prior album, mastering duties were again handled by Svante Forsbäck (Rammstein, Korpiklaani, Ensiferum), and artist Mark Gibbons (Blizzard Entertainment, Games Workshop, Rookery Publications) delivered another stunning cover painting.

THE DREAD CREW OF ODDWOOD has posted a track-by-track write-up of Rust & Glory including their incredible “Leather Ship” video; check it out RIGHT HERE.

Rust & Glory is now streaming everywhere, and is also available on Oceania and Red w/ Black Splatter vinyl LP variants limited to 250 each at the band’s webshop HERE and Bandcamp HERE.

“… the group of ruffians play acoustic folk metal-influenced tunes about life on the high seas… THE DREAD CREW OF ODDWOOD are singing tunes of their travels so that their names become commonplace in the pirate history books…” – Decibel Magazine

“Keeping it heavy without plugging anything in, THE DREAD CREW OF ODDWOOD weave tales of being salty sea dogs and all the chaos and debauchery that comes with it… anyone with a sense of humor and an appreciation for musicianship can sit back with a big ol’ flagon of grog (or any other beverage of choice) and revel in the epic and folksy tunes.” – MetalSucks

“…a banger and might actually cure the scurvy…” – Ghost Cult Magazine

“This is an album that will worm its way into your head and get stuck there, one that keeps you smiling to yourself and getting kicked off of trains because you keep shouting the lyrics aloud by accident. If you’re here looking for serious music, you’ll have to go somewhere else—preferably to grab a beer, come straight back, and start singing along.” – Angry Metal Guy

“Rust & Glory is exactly the sort of tongue-in-cheek nonsense this rather niche genre is perfect for. Never forget that THE DREAD CREW OF ODDWOOD are fantastic musicians making truly excellent music, in the same way that they don’t forget that at the end of the day this is meant to be a whole lot of fun for everyone. The two have to go hand-in-hand for the concept to really work: this might just be one of the finest examples to date.” – Echoes And Dust

“THE DREAD CREW’s folk-fueled, acoustic thrash is ridiculously catchy, and insanely funny, and if you don’t want to dance a hearty, mosh-heavy jig and drink your body weight in rum while listening to these scallywags, then you’ve almost certainly already met your demise in Davy Jones locker.” – Mass Movement Magazine
