Thrash Gods SLAYER Bring Their Final World Tour to Toyota Music Factory

On May 8th 2019, in Irving Texas at the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory Slayer brought they’re final world tour. Along with them was Lamb of God, Amon Amarth and Cannibal Corpse.

Opening this hard and heavy show was Cannibal Corpse. In true Corpse fashion they came out and tore it down! Heavy as heavy can be. Leaving a crowd favorite “Hammer Smashed Face” for last. I can tell you I don’t know how Vocalist George Fisher swing his neck like he does. Makes sense why his neck is so thick. Great quick set from Cannibal Corpse.

Next was Amon Amarth, Vikinging Death Metal!! I didn’t getvto see them setting up they’re stage so walking out and sing the front half of a huge Viking ship jetting out from the middle of the stage to the front. The drums were set up at the back. This was such an amazing set. I have listened to them here and there but after seeing them live I will definitely be going through their 10 studio albums. It was great to see them walking across the stage, using the ship, singing, playing and just rocking out around it. It was a spectacle. So much fun.

Lamb of God was up next. My first time seeing them since vocalist Randy Blythe came back from the unfortunate mishap overseas. LoG was ready though. Not missing a single step, or in Blythes case, jump. It was non-stop smashing into your face. Hard, heavy and loud just what you’d expect from a LoG show. Playing so many notable hits from “Walk With Me In Hell” to “Laid To Rest” and “Redneck” to name a few. Great show overall from Lamb Of God.

Last, but certainly not least, the band we’d all been waiting for… the legendary Thrash Gods, SLAYER! With a 20 song setlist you were in for a heavy, long and fast road of pure face-melting thrash metal like only Slayer can do. Opening they’re show with a kabuki in front of the stage with the crosses that slowly turned upside down, then changing to the Slayer logo. The pyro hits and the kabuki falls and it begins. Not missing a beat, sounding just as great as always. It was bittersweet seeing them for the last time. Definitely a great ending to an awesome journey.
