REVIEW – Heavy metal heavyweights LAMB OF GOD and MEGADETH have teamed together to reimagine an all-time favorite song. “Wake Up Dead,” the first single from MEGADETH‘s multi-platinum selling album ‘Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying?’, was originally released in 1986.
And now, with only one week remaining till the start of the second edition of The Metal Tour of the Year… LAMB OF GOD release “Wake Up Dead” featuring Dave Mustaine and the members of Megadeth. After recording the MEGADETH classic remotely, LAMB OF GOD‘s D. Randall Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler as well as bassist John Campbell and drummer Art Cruz persuaded the MEGADETH frontman himself to contribute guitar and vocals on the song personally.
LAMB OF GOD‘s Mark Morton and MEGADETH‘s Mustaine and Kiko Loureiro each contributed lead guitar solos to the tune, which included Mustaine’s trademark vocals. Additionally, Kiko Loureiro, Dirk Verbeuren, and James LoMenzo provide their vocals to the song.
Re-imagining the 1986 MEGADETH track with a modern production, the new recording has a multitude of electric guitar work, including three ripping solos that are authentic to the MEGADETH classic.
