REVIEW – Finnish female-fronted rock sensations GINGER EVIL are back with their latest single, “Flames,” set for release on October 14th, via Frontiers Music Srl. “Flames” has its origins in the earliest days of the band, dating back to 2005 when GINGER EVIL was first formed. Guitarist Tomi Julkunen and bassist Veli Palevaara noted the song’s potential to cross genre boundaries even during its initial inception. Vocalist Ella Tepponen’s melodies and lyrics, however, gave the track a unique twist, creating a dynamic and layered composition. The result is a perfect driving anthem with lyrics that explore themes of hope, resilience, and self-reflection.
The band explains, “The song’s lyrics are multi-dimensional; they can be interpreted as a relationship narrative or a broader commentary on the rapid changes in our world. The core idea is not to lose hope, even in difficult times—there is always something we can do. We wanted Flames to convey that spark of possibility amidst chaos.”
