Modern metal powerhouse LIVING DEAD GIRL has revealed a video for âPoltergeist,â the haunting fourth single from the forthcoming Exorcism debut.
âThis song is very different from the first three singles, and we love the â90s industrial vibe,â says vocalist Molly Rennick. âThe music video is the perfect visual to accompany the song, and Iâm really in love with how it turned out. The creepy horror movie aesthetic combined with the choir vocals make for a video that people are telling me gives them chills – the exact reaction I hoped for!â
Exorcism, available June 11, is available for digital pre-order at https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/livingdeadgirl1/exorcism-2. Additional bundles, including physical CDs, vinyl and exclusive merchandise are available at www.livingdeadgirl.ca/. Also check out the official video for âAlive,â the albumâs first single, which received airplay on Torontoâs mainstream rock station 94.9 The Rock, 89.1 Max FM in Barrie, Orilia and the Muskokas, X92.9 Calgary, X100.7 – Red Deerâs Alternative and CBC Radio Canada online, and the lyric videos for âEscapeâ and âExorcism.â
On Exorcismâs 11 banging tracks, Rennick channels her inner âgoth girl gone badâ attitude. From the raging, down-tuned riffs of the title track and âWorship Me,â to the infectious, singalong chorus of âVillain,â to the enticing, taunting melodies of âBeautifulâ and âAlive,â Rennick commands your full attention.
The Pit writes, âYou can say this about LIVING DEAD GIRL: they know what theyâre doing. Led by band founder Molly Remnick, the Canadian spooky groove metal act have their sonic profile down to a T: syrupy, hard-hitting riffs; staccato rhythms with driving forward momentum; and Remnick at the center of it all belting out layered, goth-girl-you-canât-ignore vocals. Fans of In This Moment and Ice Nine Kills will immediately know what to do with this, while newcomers will be inexorably drawn into the albumâs forcefully accessible sounds.â
Formed in 2017, LIVING DEAD GIRLâs style is a unique combination of goth-inspired heavy metal meets fellow Canadian frontwoman Avril Lavigne, possessing an amalgam of genres including rock, metal, industrial, goth, pop and punk rock. The music perfectly encapsulates Rennickâs personality, which she admits is a dichotomy of âone wears baby pink and Hello Kitty and listens to pop music, and the other a goth girl in fishnet stockings who listens to dark heavy metal.â The 21-year-old Rennickâs amazing vocal range sees her seamlessly switching from taunting, high-pitched croons, to menacing, harsh barks, to haunting growls with relative ease.
