Redefining Darkness Records are excited to announce our first ever music festival, INTO THE DARKNESS FEST at the Westside Bowl in Youngstown, Ohio, on Friday July 29th and Saturday July 30th. Borrowing from the name of our INTO THE DARKNESS podcast ( Youtube / Spotify / Apple ) ITD FEST exists to fill the void of the once iconic Ohio Death Fests of the late 90’s and early 2000’s. While many metal festivals embrace all forms of heavy music, ITD FEST focuses on the most extreme forms, and not only highlights bands on the Redefining Darkness roster, but also underground Extreme Metal legends and legends in the making.
The headliners for this inaugural event are Chicago Death Metal icons Macabre, King Fowley and Death Metal underground legends Deceased, the avant-garde Black Jazz trio Imperial Triumphant, and Philadelphia progressive extreme metallers Horrendous! We have been informed that Macabre are working on something special for the festival – a one-time only special performance expanding their show with some extra bits of gory fun and theatrics. We have been told it’s one you won’t want to miss and will never be performed again!
Presale tickets have been priced aggressively at $30 / 2 day pass and there are also presale bundles with a choice of either a T-Shirt or Longsleeve with the festival artwork created by Misanthropic Art. There will also be a special shirt design created by Mark Riddick that will be printed LIVE on site and will only be available at the Festival. There is food on site at the Westside Bowl (vegetarian & vegan options available), Tito’s Vodka sponsored charity cocktails, beer from Noble Creature and Cloven Hoof Brewing, arcade games, and much more!!!

Fun facts regarding the Festivals surroundings…
Those unfamiliar with Youngstown may be interested in learning that the city was a hotbed of Mafia activity from mid- late 1900’s. Once known as “Little Chicago” and later Crimetown and Murdersville USA, Youngstown acted as a hub for the mob as it was the central point on the route from New York to Chicago. For about a 10-year span from 1962 on, there were 82 unsolved mob related bombings in Youngstown, hence the city’s moniker. For those less interested in history and wanting a break from the heavy metal fury of the Fest, Youngstown offers fantastic parks for hiking, boating, and the like, such as Mill Creek Park and Cascade Gorge.
