For 2015, De Crecy is reviving his Super Discount series with Super Discount 3 on which the original version of “You,” a sexy track with its bell-like and Moroder-style synths, appears. It will be released on Ultra Music January 19. Other tracks on Super Discount 3 include “Night (Cut The Crap)” and “Hashtag My Ass” plus contributions from De La Soul’s Pos & Dave on “WTF,” “Smile” with French Touch comrade Alex Gopher, Tom Burke of Kitsune on “Sunset,” American artist Kilo Kish on “Fellow” and U.K. indie rock musician Baxter Dury on “Family.”

In other news, French Touch producer/DJ and conceptual artist ETIENNE DE CRECY will join Hot Chip, Derrick May and Omar-S at Rhondapolis, A Club Called Rhonda’s NYE spectacular happening at The Standard Downtown in Los Angeles on New Years Eve (December 31). ETIENNE DE CRÉCY was the guiding hand behind the albums Super Discount (1997) and Super Discount 2 (2004), featuring contributions from French mainstays Alex Gopher, Air, Cassius and DJ Mehdi. In that collective venture and in his solo work, ETIENNE DE CRÉCY has always rejected the facile, remaining fiercely loyal to old-school house and choosing to extensively explore electronic music’s underground labyrinths rather than tread the beaten paths of commercial success. Along with Philippe Zdar, future member of Cassius, he also formed the legendary duo Motorbass, whose 1995 album Pansoul was a seminal work of the emergent French Touch, confirming the credentials of French house.
