Coming off of ear-catching collaborations with the likes of alt-country rocker Dale Watson and an appearance on the widely hailed tribute album to The Cramps, Goo Goo Muck – A Tribute To The Cramps, Zürich’s premiere underground retro rockers The Hillbilly Moon Explosion are teasing audiences with a peak of the new studio album they’ve been keeping under wraps. The album marks the highly anticipated return of the band who, since their partnership with U.S. label Cleopatra Records, now find themselves on a global stage and ready to rock the house!
Back In Time is just the record to do it too! Over the course of 11 original songs plus a brilliant reggae-inflected cover of Toussaint McCall’s “Nothing Takes The Place Of You,” THME’s creative duo, Oliver Baroni and Emanuela Hutter, stretch the their songwriting skills, opening their music up to a broad range of diverse influences – from punk to lounge to ‘60s garage and rockabilly – without losing an ounce of the high energy rocket-ride thrills that has earned the band their following.
Witness the album’s first single, “Knocked Down,” a heavy-on-the-atmosphere rocker that builds a steady, swingin’ groove replete with otherworldly backing vocals and some truly stellar guitar work from Duncan James.
