Globally acclaimed electronic music producer and musician deadmau5 has revealed today the official track listing for while(1<2), his first ever double disc album–the one he feels to truly be his first proper body of work–set for release June 17 (digitally) and June 24 (physically and other streaming services) on mau5trap/Astralwerks Records. Prior to the launch of the album, deadmau5—an avid racecar enthusiast–will participate in the Gumball 3000 Rally Miami To Ibiza June 4-11.
The 25 tracks featured on while(1<2) were meticulously reedited, polished and pieced together into two continuous mixes for the largest album he’s ever done. From the double album’s first track “Avaritia,” (available now as an instant grat with the pre-order at http://smarturl.it/whileiTunes) which opens the collection with gentle nautical sounds before bringing fans into a rising arena-level soundscape, to pieces like “My Pet Coelacanth,” a song that segues from its experimental opening into a full club anthem, augmented by a jarring out of the blue refrain of someone yelling “f*!k,” to the soft rise of “Mercedes,” all the way through to the closing “Seeya,” a warm house track featuring vocals by Colleen D’Agostino almost two hours later deadmau5 takes listeners on a sonic journey through his complete repertoire. Other highlights on while(1<2) include deadmau5’s remixes of How To Destroy Angeles’ “Ice Age” and Nine Inch Nail’s “Survivalism.” Beyond “Avaritia,” look for other selections of the album to be offered weekly leading up to its release.
deadmau5 is particularly excited for his drive on the entire run of the 15th annual Gumball 3000 Rally from Miami to Ibiza before the release of while1<2. Joining him as his co-pilot is Tory Belleci of Discovery Channel’s MythBusters. The Gumball run will be an adventure of a lifetime. From the sunshine and parties of Miami, deadmau5 will cruise through the state of Florida towards Georgia into Atlanta. New York provides the next stopover where all 120 supercars in the rally will be loaded onto cargo planes and flown over the Atlantic to Scotland with deadmau5 and other Gumballers, which include stars from a range of industries, including David Hasselhoff, EVE, Tony Hawk, Meek Mill, Trinidad Jame$, Fast N Loud’s Richard Rawlings, DJ Drama, Tinie Tempah, 13th Witness, Dizzee Rascal, Bun B, JAWS, Stevie Williams and Nigel Sylvester, will follow on private jets not far behind.
Leaving skyscrapers behind for lochs and highlands, deadmau5 will roar through Scotland before heading south to the home of Gumball–London. From there it’s across the channel to Paris, then through France and Spain to the stunning city of Barcelona. The home stretch will be just a short drive and ferry ride to the finish line in Ibiza, ready for an explosive finale celebration weekend. During the ride from Miami to Ibiza which spans two continents, five countries, 3,000 miles and seven days, deadmau5 will preview tracks from while(1<2), share on the road live streams and release limited edition content as well as be joined by special surprise guests throughout his journey.
Follow deadmau5 on his Gumball 3000 adventures as well as everything else happening in his world via his online service, live.deadmau5.com, a digital destination he personally architected for fans to get direct access to premium content and intimate experiences. For those on the go, the live.deadmau5 app is available now for IOS.
