With ‘Savior’, the band’s musical journey leads into harder realms and impressively proves that they are one of the most exciting acts in the German hard-and-heavy scene today. ‘Savior’ is a skillful mélange of profoundly sad pathos and raw bitterness about the fact of not being able to be the saviour that the world or oneself could gladly use.

Frontman Nico Schiesewitz commented: “It’s always a war with yourself. ‘Savior’ deliberately has no happy ending because reality is just not a Hollywood movie. We all wish to be needed by others and to help others with their problems. But we must finally start to help ourselves first and accept our own struggles. Otherwise we will fall by the wayside in this selfish world.”

On Eddie Berg‘s appearance, guitarist Jan Euler commented. “Eddie and I have a close friendship that goes beyond musical interests. He has family status; we talk on the phone regularly and visit each other from time to time. Making a song together was an incredible experience for all of us and broadened our creative horizons. The Swedish melancholy was just the right setting to process our emotions in the song.”

Eddie Berg leads one of the hottest metalcore acts in the world right now – Imminence – who have just released three new critically acclaimed singles. Working with Breathe Atlantis was a totally new experience for him.

Eddie Berg commented: “Over the years, Jan has become one of my closest and dearest friends, so when asked it only felt right to work on this song together with him and the band. It brings up an important subject that a lot of us are struggling with; the difficulty of learning how to love ourselves in the first place, before we can help others. I think that Breathe Atlantis has come a long way in their song writing and vision and I’m excited on their behalf of what is to come.”

Breathe Atlantis teamed up with producer Andy Posdziech (Any Given Day, Caliban, Nasty), who took on recording and mixing duties for ‘Savior’ and ‘Overdrive’. Schiesewitz‘s relentless, bone-grinding shouts will send shivers down your spine, until the stadium-ready chorus hits you right in the gut.

Schiesewitz adds: “Musically, we’re just taking the route that feels best for us. There were just two options left: starting over or let it be the end of this road. We are here to express our feelings through music and deliver the most honest and meaningful art. It just felt right for us to go for a darker and heavier sound than ever before and this ongoing pandemic was just fuel to the fire. We even relinquished the electronic elements in this song because we liked the roughness and raw energy.”

Breathe Atlantis have previously played shows with Sum 41, Memphis May Fire, Attila, Bury Tomorrow, Crossfaith and Slaves, toured Europe supporting the likes of Any Given Day, To The Rats And Wolves and Imminence, and played top slots at German festivals.
