Serbian Indie Pop band, Bitter Blue, brings a new 5 song EP titled Levity that is instantly a head bopping good time.
The first track, “Someone Better,” displays layers of indie-rock fun delving into the emotions of yearning, anguish, and idealism. The vocals are heart felt, coming from a place of love for the singer thinking they could be better than they initially thought they could be through a relationship. The next track, “Dirty Bussines,” features a steady bass with frenetic, pulsing drum beats. “Flare” is a slower paced gem drawing the listener in deeper and deeper into an bluesy, resonating sound. “Sentinel” begins with a jazz steady beat delving off into soaring guitars, steady percussion, and a strong bass that hits close to home for any music lover. “What Are You” closes the EP with a reflective slower paced tone.
Levity finds itself as a mesmerizing, engaging listen with hints of pop, jazz, blues, and an well rounded sound that demonstrates a connection to the audience. For fans of The Strokes, The Smiths , and Bloc Party, this is a must listen.
