REVIEW – Due out on February 18th, ZARIA’s ‘Tell The Wind’ is a mesmerizing blend of symphonic and folk metal. This album showcases the Slovenian band’s captivating mix of heavy riffs, ethereal melodies, and sweeping arrangements. With powerful dual vocals and intricate instrumentation, ZARIA has created a magical soundscape that transports listeners to a world of fantasy and adventure.
‘Tell The Wind’ kicks off with “Prophecies of Old”, a short and atmospheric prelude that sets the stage for the epic journey ahead. “Where Adventures Begin” follows, featuring soaring vocals, thunderous drums, and crunchy riffs that capture the band’s signature sound. “Evermore” adds a heavier touch with powerful guitar work and anthemic vocals, while “Prek Meglic Preteklosti” invites the listener to drift away with its enchanting melodies and rich harmonies.
The middle of ‘Tell The Wind’ is a rollercoaster of emotions. “Ko Vstane Jutro” brings powerful riffs and fist-pumping energy, while “Gea” offers an introspective and sweeping seven-minute epic filled with majestic instrumentation. “Dream of a Frozen Dragon” combines delicate melodies with crushing heaviness, immersing the listener in a fantastical tale. “Warlord” follows with hard-hitting rhythms and strong vocals, offering a powerful and anthemic battle cry.
As ‘Tell The Wind’ progresses, “To Stealing, Cheating, Fighting and Drinking” takes listeners on a lively folk-inspired musical journey, full of charm and whimsy. “V senci Triglava” provides a majestic close to the core of the album with its soaring orchestral elements and emotional depth. “Tell The Wind” returns to the central theme of the album with a blend of uplifting melodies and haunting vocals. The record closes with “Until That Fateful Day”, an introspective ballad that lingers with listeners long after it finishes.
